….now you have been following along and I thank you.
So now the photo album of a family I had sitting on my dusty shelf of my life? When the grand age of 50 happened it would have been difficult for anyone including me to imagine that I actually had one? I sure didn’t act like a family man. Surprise, I had kids. You see I had been married nearly a quarter of a century and these two kids had been on the ride all along. A son & daughter, “a rich mans family” it’s called. Mind you, I have great kids and I love them with every fiber of my being. The difficulty was I didn’t even know them. Their mother had done a great job of raising them. She followed school progress, made certain they had cloths, food , medical, soccer, toys, dolls, softball, little league, brownies, girl scouts and the list goes on and on. I am quite certain they were told they had a father? Looking back I’m sure they had a photo album of him as well. How could this be? Two great kids, a wife of many years, a career, friends all just a blur? But oh I could sit at the bar, enjoy the best Scotch, have a cigar and tell stories of life! I was so proud “I Have Never Changed a Diaper in My Life!” I would exclaim to my friends!
