…..I’m so happy you’re still following along!
So now the big scary topic: “Oh God!” Just a little background; I was born into the Mormon faith, not my personal choice but none the less that’s my start. In my early and late teens I was very active in my church, even thought I would marry a Mormon girl. However as time went on my agnostic position emerged. It was easy to be agnostic! You see I didn’t have to make any commitments! And the excuse was the best of all, “I was busy”. Here is the little secret (I always knew something was missing in my life, I was out of balance.) Never would I let on that I was afraid to make a commitment, afraid that I just didn’t know enough to make a commitment and that I was afraid to find something to believe and commit to! Oh know not me, not Craig. Personal journeys are really a trip. How was I to know that I was on one and what a ride it was. Now the Demons: It was early 2002, I was living in Las Vegas, out of work and drinking so much. My weight was nearly 350 lbs and it just looked like death was coming. I was so unhappy, so scared. A fight broke out with my girlfriend and I was just left alone at home. Tears were flowing from me like no other time I can remember. I was facing Craig for the first time ever. This broken fat drunken 51-year-old man. Then the Demons came as I tried to sleep, they were green snake-like creatures. Everywhere I turned they we’re everywhere! It seemed like hours and hours of nothing but green monsters! That’s when I snapped, I surrendered, I asked God for help. I asked him to let me sleep for an hour, just an hour would be fine. In trade, (yes I made a deal with God). Let me sleep and I will do anything you ask! Seemed like a fair deal at the time? I woke up an hour later, rested a miracle; the first of so many more to come. That’s how I came to Alcoholic’s Anonymous..
…and the story continues..
Just keep following…
